Chanukah Party

Every year between the end of November and the end of December, Jewish people around the world celebrate Chanukah, the festival of lights. During Chanukah, Jewish children everywhere play with the party favors called "Dreidels" They play games with their dreidels and everyone eats Latkas (potato pancakes) and other traditional Jewish food to celebrate the Chanukah holiday. It is a festive time of year and families everywhere decorate their houses with the traditional colors of Blue and White. Chanukah is a time when Jewish people celebrate the triumph of their spirituality over the physicality of their surrounding environment. Lighting the Menorah is the centerpiece of Chanukah and a special event! By lighting the candles of the menorah, the families pass on the spiritual flame to the next generation. Special blessings are recited prior to the lighting ceremony. Decorate your home with Chanukkah decorations. Each night of Chanukah a candle is lit starting with the far right and then moving to the left with each night until there are 8 dancing candles or flames on the final night of this festive holiday! This is a festive time of Celebration for Jewish people everywhere!
