Have fun at a Pokemon Party. With a movie, television show, several video games, a trading card game and seemingly endless merchandise out there, it seems Pokemon are everywhere. These little “pocket monsters” found their way into the imaginations of America’s little ones starting in 1998. Why not take advantage of this franchise’s popularity with a Pokemon-themed party, then?
A key advantage of a Pokemon theory is how much “stuff” is out there. Invitations, paper plates, disposable cups, napkins and banners are all available not only at your local party store but also at almost any discount store or even dollar store. For party favors, consider buying pokeballs at a toy store and stuffing with stickers or sweet treats. When it comes time for the big cake, by far the simplest way to tie the Pokemon theme in is to make a Pokeball cake. To make, simply make a circular cake, with or without multiple layers. When decorating, spread red icing on a small circular area in the center of the top of the cake. The rest of the cake should be half-red, half-white, with the dividing line running right across the diameter of the cake. Add some candles and you have a Pokeball cake in no time!
With an endless supply of merchandise, movies, comics and cards available, it seems Pokemon is everywhere. Why not make it the theme for a party? It’s sure to be the delight of your little one for years to come.
